FileKeeper OS support & requirements
Policy Server Requirements
Yosemite FileKeeper currently supports servers with the following minimum specifications:
Operating System
- Windows Storage Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 or later
- Windows Server 2003 with Service Pack 1 or later
- Windows 2000 Server with Service Pack 4 or later
Prerequisite Software
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0
- Microsoft SQL Server 2000/2005 or Microsoft SQL Server 2000 Desktop Engine (MSDE)
- Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0 or later with ASP.NET support enabled
Disk Space Required
- 1.5 MB for FileKeeper Enterprise
- 40 MB for .NET Framework
- 70 MB for MSDE
Client Requirements
Yosemite FileKeeper currently supports laptops and desktops with the following minimum specifications:
Operating System
- Windows Vista
- Windows XP Pro or Home with Service Pack 2 or later
- Windows 2000 Professional with Service Pack 4 or later
Prerequisite Software
- Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 *
- Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or later
Disk Space Required
- 20 MB for FileKeeper agent
- 40 MB for .NET Framework
* This prerequisite software is automatically installed, if necessary, during the FileKeeper agent installation.
Backup Server Requirements
Yosemite FileKeeper will back up protected files to any file server that uses Microsoft's Common Internet File System (CIFS) protocol for Windows file sharing:
Operating System
- Windows Storage Server 2003
- Windows Server 2003
- Windows 2000 Server
- Most Network Attached Storage (NAS) appliances *
- Linux and other "Unix-like" systems running Samba *
Storage Space
Storage requirements vary widely and depend on the mix of protected documents, the principal activities of your users, and the number of user computers. Contact Yosemite for recommendations as to the storage required for your particular environment.
* Note that many NAS and Samba-based systems do not fully support Windows access permissions.
